KJ Semi-Annual Members Meeting
All KJ members are encouraged to attend this season's semi-annual members meeting. The meeting will take place on Sunday February 12, 2012, at 3pm at the Hrvatksi Dom in Breslau. We hope to see you all there!
Shake off the Winter Blues with a Zimska Fešta!
Kraljica Jelena is holding their first annual Zimska Fešta stag and doe on Friday, January 13 at the Dom in Breslau. Doors open at 7:00pm, come out and enjoy dinner, drinks, and some fabulous draws! Live music until early morning by "Grupa Volta". Tickets are $10 (dinner included), and are available from group members. For more info, see the events page.
KJ's Second Bake Sale
The Queen Helena Fundraising Committee will be holding its second Bake Sale at the Holy Family (Croatian) Church Parish after 9:30am and 11:00am masses this Sunday, December 18 2011. Come out and support our group by getting your yummy treats, just in time for the Holidays!
Queen Helena to Sell Goods at Kitchener Market
Members of the Queen Helena Fundraising Committee will be selling home made rezance (Croatian soup noodles) and individual-sized holiday hot chocloate packages at the Kitchener Farmer's Market (downtown) on both Saturday December 10 and Saturday December 17, 2011.
Come out and support the group by visting our table at the market.
(The hot chocolates make for great stocking stuffers!)
Sucessful Bake Sale in early December
On Sunday December 4, 2011, the Queen Helena Fundraising Committee ran our first bake sale of the season at the Holy Family (Croatian) Church Parish after 9:30am and 11:00am masses.
Members of the group provided a variety of baked goods in high numbers, and mothers of the Junior and Intermediate dance/tambura members packaged everything the night before.
The Bake Sale proved to be a great success since we completely sold out of all the baked goods!
Queen Helena performs in Washington D.C.
Recently, the Young Adults and Tambura Combo performed at the 2011 CFU TamFEST in Washington D.C., where they showcased a song from the region of Zagorje entitled "Kad Sam Bila Ja Djevojka", followed by folk dance traditions of Podravina Croats in Hungary with the "Ovo Kolo Naokolo" choreography. Congratulations to all performers for a job well done!

Young Adults and Tambura Combo in California
Queen Helena's Young Adults dance group and tambura Combo performed at the 4th Annual Croatian Cultural Extravaganza on January 17, 2010 at the Historic Warner Grand Theater in San Pedro California.
